Best pellet recipe

Post by calroger »

I've been using 40-30-20 with moderately good results. The pellets produced with this recipe test about 75% on the scanner. I tried 30-20-10 with horrible results. The first one tested about 20%. I dumped the rest. I am currently doing a test burn at 45-35-25. If anyone has a better combination, I would like to hear about it. I am doing my part to try to "light up" the lake>

If you wish to try different recipes You can use this Pellet Calculator or personally I prefer to use this Calculator

My personal Recipe gives a 2 hour cook time
Ovens 1 - 2 & 3 are set to: 19.5-Max-Max
Oven 4 is set to: 19.5-Max-19.5
which gives me a score between 966 to 1000

Always check the Python 0 file to verify your settings it will read double your oven setting in other words you will see the following for my recipe:

ercaBakePellets:IGetRecipe: time1 = 39, time2 = 39, time3 = 39, time4 = 39
ercaBakePellets:IGetRecipe: amt1 = 100, amt2 = 100, amt3 = 100, amt4 = 100
ercaBakePellets:IGetRecipe: temp1 = 100, temp2 = 100, temp3 = 100, temp4 = 39

How do you know which oven is which or is it just the quantity of ovens on each setting that matters?

This is a map of the Ercanna Factory with the Ovens and Vats numbered - This numbering is the same as what is used within the Python file

It is possible to do slightly better than this ... but not by much.
I've been using a similar recipe to this for a few years, and what may surprise people is, this recipe is on a website, all you have to do is look for it (I suggest starting with Guild Of Sleepers Useful Links)
