Can't take Bahro Pole

I am trying to do all the things I have not done with my avatar,

So I started with the Path Of The Hand (The four starting ages on the pillars in Relto)
I got as far as Teledahn (Gahreesen & Kadish Tolesa done OK) and I can enter the Bahro cave, listened to Yeesha's speech,
but I cannot take the Bahro pole. I can touch the symbol, it lights up, but the pole does not dissapear.
If I try to touch the symbol again after the first time, before I leave the cave, nothing happens.

If I quit and restart TOC-MOUL, and re-enter the cave, I can touch the symbol again, once
When I return to Relto, there is no pole on the pillar, and I have no wedge for Teledahn.

So, what do I do now?

I tried to delete the Teledahn book and replay the Age.
Each cloth I touched showed I had touched all 7 cloths.
When I had touched all 7 again, I went into the Bahro cave

And I still could not take the Bahro pole.

I deleted my avatar, and created a new one.
I replayed the Cleft, and then Teledahn.

And I finally took the pole ... but now I have to do all the other ages all over again *sigh*
