Journeys in COD

I have seen at least three journey cloths in COD. Do these serve any purpose or just decoration? If I collect all of them, is there a journey door or ghostly portal to go through?

These were in the city since the Uru Live Prologue in 2004 but they do not have a purpose and there are not 7 of them.

Originally, there were only 7 journey cloths total across the entire game (this was back in 2002 during closed beta) with the only bahro door being accessible from Eder Kemo, which was accessed via the Neighborhood (its book occupied the pedestal that Delin and Tsogal do now). Those three journey cloths are leftovers from that era. The change to seven cloths and a door in each age came when Ubi forced Cyan to make a single player component.

Thanks Adam.
I have to say you are one of the best informed people who know the ins and outs of Myst/URU.
That is a compliment. I love to here the history of the game.
Thanks so much.

The place still exists since everything in Prologue era still exists. The issue is where and is it still something that can be visible?

There's a strong possibility that the 2 missing clothes were in the neighborhood. In the code, we can still see journey clothes in the hood's SDL file. The issue is that we cannot make them visible. Prologue was a big beta state game. A lot of thing planned during that era never happened. The closed door near the garden in the hood is called: "GameDoor". There was a room planned behind it: the game room. Its purpose... I dunno. It is one of many unachieved projects.
