Possible PhysX Problem

This week, I have done a full reinstall of TOC-Moul. Since PhysX was already installed, I did not have the TOC-Moul installer reinstall it.

While progressing through the game, some things don't appear normal. When I kick something such as fire marbles, it is as if I fired the object out of a gun. If I try kicking an orange cone, the sound is a rapid stutter. Kicking sticks produces the same stutter sound.

My version of PhysX is 09.12.1031. I read somewhere in the forums that 2.6.4 is required. I configured the nVidia 9800GT card to use the on-card GPU for PhysX.

Any ideas what I should do to get things back to "normal"?

I have encountered some other "old" problems since the reinstall but I will address them in a separate post.

New Avvie "Akon" since I deleted Jeremiah and Retiredman no longer works.

I don't think this is a PhysX issue, especially not one with your installation.
Besides, the marbles have been overreacting the whole time, since Cyan switched from Havok to PhysX.

I don't know about the sound problem.

The last time I played before reinstalling earlier this week was about a month ago (been working on other projects) and the marbles worked fine then. It is not a show stopper. I can still play the game. It was more difficult than usual placing the fish traps in Eder Gira. They bounced around significantly more than usual.

There are a number of PhysX parameters that can be configured in the nVidia control panel but I left them all at the default settings.

I have the same video card on one of my computers with latest drivers and PhysX and i have no problem at all or at least not more than usual ones.
It is strange though: on my old Notebook with AMD ( i am AMD lover :P )processor and nvidia 6100Go video card, win XP SP3, playing in compatibility mode for win 98 i don't crash at all but have slow link in and out from CoD,
Yet on the PC with the same card like your and Again AMD processor and OS, i crash like hell.

P.S.: i never touched the PhysX settings either. (6100 has only software PhysX though)

I experimented with a few things. First, I am running on a quad-core cpu @ 2.4ghz with 4 gb RAM. Using XP SP3. I am connected to internet with fiber optic (FIOS) from Frontier.com.
I tried compatibility mode with Win 98. Not much difference. Tried changing the PhysX to system CPU operation. Not much difference. I am back to no compatibility and 9800GT GPU mode.

I don't know what has changed from my previous installation but at this point I am going to stop worrying about it and hope that some future changes to the system will fix the problem.
