Massive Gfx-Problem after PhysX-Update

Hello Friends.

A few days ago I made an update of my PhysX-Installation. Since then, the textures are partially plain white ... okay, its Winter, but its no snow ;) . To my surprise, all of my MOUL-Installations are affected as well as my TPOTS-Installations (Deep Island and my offline TPOTS).

Anyone knowing something about this?

Greetings and a good Yuletime/Christmas

Volker

Which PhysX version did you install? You should use the latest from the NVidia website.

Maybe you'll also need the legacy driver:

Yes, as I wrote, Mystler, I made an update.

Both, the linked PhysX and PhysX (Legacy) are installed, as well as the latest ATI-Drivers for my Gfx-Card.

Before the Servers went down, I was able to test it with my Client for MOULa and Gehn, both showing the same behaviour as TOC.

Just a little Update to the problems I described above:

Any Version of Moula as well as TPOTs are affected, but - only on my Win7 (64-bit) System. I had to start my still existing Win XP (32-bit) for some private purposes and tried to start TOC, and there were no problems at all.

So this whole mess seems to be a weird combination of Win7/64, my Gfx-Card and the 64-bit ATI-Drivers. I have no explanation for this, but it's okay - I just have to switch to my good old XP to play again 8-) . But if anyone has a solution that allows me to play on my Win7/64 as well, I would be very thankful ;) .

Regards

Folkher

May I ask you what your hardware specifications are?

Ohh nooo ... lol ... Always those Ati drivers/cards/Intel chips or both etc. ... it is not Windows 7,
I believe, Folkher and Mystler ... :P

Just recently I've been looking for those things, broken textures everywhere/snowy Relto etc., just
like in your picture, Folkher, for someone else, and I found that this problem seems to be a prevalent
one in the community since almost forever ... When you google for that or look through the MOUL forums
then you'll find many threads about that issue, but unfortunately most of them with no solution yet, but full
of many good tips to where to look for the solution ...

This someone for whom I was researching and I'm talking about above is just right now desperately looking for
a solution for exactly the same problem like you, Folkher ... Arctic_Wagon has just posted some very good links
to look through, and there are already many other good tips and links to look into in that thread ... I'm crossing
my fingers and wish you much luck with this one, Folkher ... :D

Does it look like this?

Edit, if this occured right after a PhysX update then it's probably a problem caused my Nvidia and not AMD :p

*Looking around and seems to be very nervous, but nothing suspicious seems to be near, then speaking quietly to Mystler*: Okay, but ... don't tell anyone else! ;)

AMD Quadcore FX (4 x 3,6 Ghz) (Win 7 Pro 64-bit)
ATI Radeon 5450 PCIe (latest drivers)
DX 11 and DX 9 (latest Versions, DX9 manually installed)
PhysX 9.12.1031 and 9.12.1031 legacy (also tested downgrade to 8.09.04)

I agree with janaba, it's a driver problem, but at the moment I have not the money to change to Nvidia. I have had problems with ATI-Drivers and some other games, they seem not to give a dime on downwards compatibility. For my good old Neverwinter Nights I had to test a dozen OpenGL-Libraries from older driver versions to get it run smoothly again.

But as I said, on my XP-Installation everything is fine - and restarting my Computer to change the System is not really that hard ;) .

@Cpt-Jericho: yes exactly like this. But I forgot to mention that at the same time there was a Gfx-Driver update, so ATI is still my first suspect.

If it runs OK on XP then maybe a DX11 module from AMD is making the problem. Have you tried XP SP3 mode under Win7?

Oh yes, I tried all modes available, but no change. But as I said, it's no problem, I'm just waiting for the next driver-update, may be after it everything will be fine again (as happened with other older games ;) )
