In the latest update (v10), we have released a new startup age. Feel free to try it out yourself and report bugs, problems or just some feedback.
The startup can be navigated with the arrow keys and hitting spacebar to play, too.

Congratultaions!
I find it very nice also th music by you (i think) is quite good too

Everythink is very nice, but now some bugs i found:
when i logged for the first time, because i had only one avvie i saw my avvie's outlook just for a moment and then nothing. It get fixed after you enter the game, then everything is OK
Second bug i found is with creating new avvie. Everything went quite well, untill i exit customization menu. Then i recieved one big nice black screen with the mouse cursor and nothing more.... i've waited 15 minutes and nothing. After i killed the gae and reloged - everything run smoothly.
And last: it took me 2 or 3 pushes of the play button to start the game.
Running on XP sp3, with '98 compatibility mode.

Your avatar is saved to the disk, so you see no avatar in the startup the first time you login after the update. This is not a bug.
I have no idea why the play button is acting weird for you but you can try to hit space bar instead (I updated the first post on that).
You can also send me your Python.log (notice it is .log now) from "AppData\Local\The Open Cave\Log" to developer (AT) mystler (DOT) eu.
However, the linking takes a little time and maybe you thought nothing was happening whereas the game was already activating your avatar. Try to listen if there is a woooooosh-like sound after clicking the Play-button. That means you have selected your avatar.
I don't know about the black screen and I hope that was a one time thing. It should not be related to the missing Intro video but if that was the case, it'll probably be fixed in the next update.

Ok, because i play from 3 different computers, now i entered the cavern from my second PC, with my newly created on the previous computer avvie, which was with modified outlook.
The PLAY button problem was no more.
I understood the avvie picture mechanics, so everything is ok, BUT
When i entered the cavern with my second avvie, it's outfit was cleared to default!!!
Please, don't tell that the new start up page keeps the settings of the avvie stored locally on the PC , cause that will be one big inconvenience!
I'll wait for your response and then will enter with my first avvie, cause i am "afraid" to not loose my settings.
P.S.: there was no more problems with "black screen" problem in my post above.
Again, at this PC i am with XP, SP3, compatibility mode '98.
i'll do all the ages just to check is everything else ok

Ok, i saw something else:
I grabbed my KI previously and also done the cleft.
Now, i have the 4 pillars but with the antennas above , but my KI is missing

IDK if this is server or start up page related... just saying what i see.

OK, last post, don't want to get banned

As i saw that nothing works in my relto, even the bevin book, neither the pillars i've restarted the game and.... Voila! It working as expected!
Even my Outfit is back!
So i guess every first log in on different PC is a "pain in the *$$".

I cannot really say anything to your other problems now, but yes, the avatar is stored locally. If there was a simple way to store the avatar on the server, someone would have created a startup like this years ago.

Deleting an avatar could be a bit confusing, I think the text is too big. If the resolution is set lower then you can't see the entire message and instead see something like "If you want to DELETE this" or "If you want to DELETE this explorer" .

Oh, may I ask you what resolution you are playing with?
It wants you to type you avatar's name for confirmation.
I'll add that to the ToDo-List.

When I tested this I was switching resolutions a lot.
800 x 600, 1024 x 764, and 1152 x 648 were the ones that had the problem.
1152 x 864 and higher did not have the problem.
