TPOTS-Moula Offline-Ki??

I have just installed TPOTS-Moula (Alcugs??) and find numerous problems. I read in another posting that one needs to install the "Offline-Ki" What is this and where do I get it? Supposedly, it solves many of the problems.

Some of the problems include:

• No destinations listed in Nexus
  Most of the link pages in books on bottom shelf lead to black. Have to kill program to exit
  Can't link to city.
  I don't know if there is a COD in this program. I've seen references to it but can't find it.
  Yeesha talked to me in cleft but I could not see her. The journey cloth she delivers appeared on wall OK.

I am running Windows XP SP3. 2.4 Ghz quad-core processor. nVidia 9800GT Video card, Soundblaster Audigy sound. 1920x1200 HD display. 4 Gb RAM.

You need a program called "Drizzle" that allows you to convert content and install the OfflineKI as well as fan ages.

I hope it still works since it is not maintained anymore, afaik.

In order to get help for Drizzle look at Drizzle - UamWiki.

To get the latest versions of Offline-KI and fan-made Ages change the server setting to "http://www.the-deep-island.de/uru-ages/".

I got Drizzle installed. It was a challenge since I had removed Java from my system. There were reports of a serious security leak.

Anyway, now that the offline-ki is installed and 85 ages downloaded and installed,.....WOW! The most interesting thing I have observed is that since the offline-ki was installed, the game seems to have switched from an online game to an offline game.

I'm thinking you installed into the wrong directory....TOC-TPOTS and TOC-MOUL are separate

Yeah, TOC-MOUL and TOC Alcugs are two completely different things. They're both URU but one is based on the latest Myst Online and the other on 2004s offline game.

There were reports of a serious security leak.

That has been fixed in the latest version.

I am working on my third reinstall of TOC Alcugs. I have drizzle installed and set to the correct server as noted above. Currently, the only things I have installed from drizzle are the offline-Ki (required), Age Information (required), and Portal calculator. At this point, the game is still functioning as a MOUL online game. However, many of the links lead to a black screen and freeze the game. If I install the "Official No-CD Patch", most of the links work properly but the game functions as an offline game with no login required. What do I do now? I seem to recall reading somewhere that there was something else beside drizzle that needs to be installed

The NoCD patch overwrites the TOC patch and is not needed (included in the TOC files), you have to reinstall the TOC Alcugs patch.

Well, I'm now on reinstall number four! Reinstalling the TOC patch really screwed things up.

I reinstalled in the following sequence:
1. Uninstalled TPOTS
2. Deleted all game files in the TPOTS folder but I can't find the data files so there were some remnants of previous installs.
3. I reinstalled URU and TPOTS.
4. I installed the TOC patch
At this point I could get into the game but many links didn't work. They led to the "black void" and frozen game.
5. I installed Drizzle and pointed it to the correct server address.
6. I converted files for TPOTS, MOUL, and MYST5.
7. I installed offline-KI and required age descriptions.
Another test yielded similar results obtained after step four above.
8. I reinstalled the No-CD patch.
At this point the game apparently changed to an offline game although I don't know how to confirm that for sure. The important thing is that all links appear to be working including some new ones.

There are now links to MYST5, apparently all ages. I am not saying where the links are located but I found more than one. Also a linking book with many MYST5 pages in it.

The game currently does not require a login. That is why I think it has changed to an offline version. I think I'll leave it this way for now and start doing some serious exploring. Aside from there being no login, is there any other way to determine if the game is online or offline?

All help to date, is appreciated. Any other tips or suggestions would be appreciated.

Again you installed the No-CD patch! As Mystler said it is not needed for TOC-tPots!

Maybe it's my fault. When I posted the screenshot of Drizzle in my post above I assumed you would try playing the fan-made Ages offline first, without the TOC patch (my Pots folder setting in Drizzle points to a path with "lokal" (local) in its name, which is another word I use for "offline").
There is no need exploring these Ages online via the TOC shard, except you want to meet potentially other players there, of course!

At this point I could get into the game but many links didn't work. They led to the "black void" and frozen game.

I think the TOC server does not check which Ages you have installed. So, in order to be sure all available links are working, best you download all fan-made Ages into your TOC-tPots folder.

So here comes a screenshot from my Drizzle settings for TOC:
(I am not sure whether it is important to install the correct version of the Offline-KI (3.7.1) supported by TOC?)
And BTW, I never tried out the "LanguageChanger" I have installed!



Important note:
When you change the path for "Pots folder" in Drizzle to another TPOTS installation you possess on your harddrive, afterwards you have to click on "Get Latest List" in order to get the corresponding display for this path/folder you just have swapped to!
