New Mining Game -- What is it?

I was in CoD this morning and there was a group of people in front of the museum stairs discussing the mining game. I know it is new in the latest release but I can't find any information on it. Would someone please explain the game and how to play it.

In the City of Dimensions, you have to search the rocky walls (not building walls) for six areas that are clickable.
Your mouse cursor will change to show something can be clicked on.

When you click on the wall, a little box will pop up and a red light will flash (and play a sound)
you have to click on the dot (called a boulder) and a new sequence will play adding one boulder in the sequence compared to the previous sequence.
Each round the number of boulders to click on increases by one and each round is a new random sequence.

The scoring starts high and gets lower the longer you take to complete the sequence.
Your total score is shown at the bottom.
When you get the sequence wrong, the game ends and tells you how much Ore you have collected.

Mr Rosenqvist says in future updates, you will be able to see how much of each metal you have collected.
Also, Mr Rosenqvist says that the 6 areas will contain different games, but at the moment they all contain the same game.

I found two areas... it seems the hotspots have a limitless range. In other words, you can click a mining area from as far across the cavern as you want, as long as that area is still visible to you.

So, you can cover more rock quicker in the search to find the spots by standing farther away from the walls. Don't have to take the cursor across as far of a distance or move your character as much.

I have found the 6 spots (including the one showed by Mr.R.).
Also i made a marker game about them.

Spoiler:

1.) near the musem entrance on the left;
2.) at the Ferry, when u pass the nexus, go through the gate at the end of the path;
3.) Behind the Library on the mountain;
4.) From plazza go to the Kadish gallery, pass the doors and at the end of the path before the stairs.
5.) At the ferry - right near the ruins.
6.) At a stalagmite, behind the Hall of Kings at the Path to the AoK (left).
