No KI PIcs update in "The OpenCave" folder

I updated recent 4/9/12 TOC-MOUL Client software per this interpretation of Mystler's instructions : http://the-open-cave.net/forum/viewtopi ... 7&start=10 (4.3 I think, now 4.4). I also removed the old TOC-MOUL "Uru Live" folder and renamed it to avoid all possible conflicts.

Using standard slideshow Vista S/W it appears that I have no recent NEW .jpg KI Pics in KIimages folder under subject folder since 4/22/12 which was when I made that the latest update.

I asked several other avies, in game, to check their folders and they seem to have experienced the same thing (No new .jpg KI Pics update).

What seems to have happened is that the Client KIimages Folder now updates as .png instead of .jpg, and if this is intentional, then client user must make allowances for that, I presume. Are .png KIimages now intentional in client :?:

This creates a mixed folder of .jpg and .png. It appears that we should seperate the types, perhaps..:?:

At one time I had noticed the .png's and presumed that it was part of a TOC-MOUL intentional change. But the recent Client updates seems to complicate matters.

Hope this helps Mystler...apologies for adding to your work load...Maybe I missed something earlier...Please advise... and Many Thanks !

EDIT:- I forgot to say that when .png(s) occurred, they started using a new KIimage0001.png, and on ..and they are nested with original KIimage0001.jpg and on...so what appears to be a case of missing KI Pics really may not be Missing KI Pics..its Confused KI pics, if arranged by Name order. At first I thought that my .jpg(s) were being converted to .png(s) in my mixed folder, but I checked that and two sample Pics with same number are indeed different pics.

I have only clean and nice png pictures inside my folder, but to test the issue here, mentioned by Abjab,
I logged in again, after a crash in the CoD on the boat lol, and when I tried to take a screenshot using F5
I get the following message ...
(I never used that feature btw because I'm using Fraps for larger better screenshots)

Image
I cannot click the OK button, I have to shut TOC off through the taskmanager

I've tried it again, but with the same result. I've also uploaded the crash.dmp and the Python.0.elf file.
If you'd like to have the whole log folder let me know. The MOUL online list doesn't take me off the list,
when I crashed ... Haha, as of the list I'm still in my Relto ... :D

Edit: I forgot to mention that the photos I've tried to take 'were taken', means they are as png in my
KIimages folder ... maybe that helps and makes a difference ... :P

@Abjajb, I also got no jpg files, they're all png. Maybe your jpg files are older ones?

@janaba, thanks for the crash dump. I'll have a look at it.

I can help here, Janaba...perhaps; the reason for my inability to click on the "OK" (to Close) button is because the cursor (Arrow) becomes hidden underneath the game windows, two of them (in my case), and / or the banner is placed too high in the frame to enable an "invisible" cursor to make a screen grab (Mouse click and drag) to move the Error banner off the (reduced) game window.

In spite of these restrictions, with a little persistance, I have managed to blindly find and pull the ERROR Banner down and off the background, where I was able to find and click on "OK" Close Button, and it closed correctly then...for me...

It's almost impossible (except for Luck) to click the "OK" button otherwise, because even when your invisible cursor is actually 'over' it (i.e 'under' it), the "OK" Button didn't seem to "Highlight". It Did Highlight after I had pulled the Banner down and off per above.

Hope this helps, too Mystler...(Edit:- and thanks for the confirmation above. Mystler !)

Edit:- I should note that I have Janaba's problem when I try to take a KI Pic (F5) immediately after makeing certain offline KI emote changes to environment (like /rot 90 z struct, in Relto). This may or may not be related to Post Subject, but it caused me to examine my KIimages Folder which then led me to Post subject :)

I used to have JPGs in the KIImages folder but after one of the updates the new images were PNGs. I chalked that up to progress. I assume that PNGs offer better quality than JPGs.

@Janaba - I have to use the 'Alt-Tab' to pick the error window then I can click it. But sometimes I have to use the Task Mgr to kill the process.

I guess it falls to me to help close this subject thread :)....as best I can ..

History shows that TOC MOUL has used *.jpg's, then *.png's, and now *.jpg's again for Client KI Pics...

see http://the-open-cave.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=278 for this last Fix/change. (Thank you Mystler !)

A mixed *.jpg/*.png KIimages Folder may exist for some of us. No KI pics are lost, merely confused in Folder, depending on Folder order selections. No *.jpg's or *.png's have been converted by TOC MOUL Client software, and should not be (manually) converted in the same folder, because it may cause KI Pic Name confliction and Pic deletion. (see why below)....Phew !

Pics are named KIimage0001.jpg and on, and KIimage00001.png and on, each contiguously:
Select and use Folder "Details"; for "Name", "Size", "Type", "Dimensions", "Date Modified" to manage Folder order. It's a Puzzle, if you have all 3 version events, to put them in proper order by date. 8-)

TOC MOUL KI Pics can be found (Vista/Win7) C:/Users/(your Document's name)/AppData/Local/The Open Cave/KIimages. You may need Admin rights and "Show Hidden Files" set to find the Folder. Warning !! Do not mess with the KIimage Files in this folder, otherwise you may bork your KI in Game. However it is safe to "Select All" KIimage Files, say, and copy them to a New Named folder somewhere else, where you can do anything you want with them, put a short-cut on your desktop for the New Folder and show them as Slideshow 8-)

Hope this helps ... all comments/corrections welcome :)
