New kid on block-- Bug Report

On my initial tour, I have had numerous crashes. Several occurred when rotating my avatar in place (turning around) but in different locations. I have a log.zip file I wanted to attach but I don't see a way to do that. If someone would tell me how to submit the file, I would be happy to do so.
Member of MOULa, Gehn_Shard, Cyan. I now have four differnt versions of URU installed on my computer. TOC is the most interesting because of access to locations denied in the other versions and areas that have been changed/restored. However, TOC is the most unstable version I have used. Gehn has problems but none crashes back to desktop.
I am anxious to explore more. I am also looking forward to exploring more of Gehn when they get the Cleft bug fix.
Y'all have a good day, now.

As a new explorer on this shard, I would follow these 2 advices:
Click with right mouse button on your TOC launcher, in properties, in compatibilities
1st) enable "run as admin"
2nd) enable "run with compatibility to Win XP SP3"
This will help you. I'm suspecting you went inside the City of Dimensions (aka COD). This is where you will crash 100 times without doing the above & likely no crash doing the above

I am running XP SP3 so don't need to emulate it. I will try running as admin.
I think most of the errors/crashes were in the new city "City of Dimensions". I love what has been done in the new city. I especially like the new area that is accessed from a blank book.
Thanks,
Cal
(edit)
I just looked and I don't find an option for running as admin. Perhaps that's because I am logged in as admin on my system.

Under Xp, there is no Admin option, but turn emulation for Win 98!!! This works just fine for me!!!

We know this problem, but have no idea, why there are so many crashes. We are interessted in the crash.dmp file, which is located in your log folder. You can send it to "support (at) the-open-cave (dot) net"

This mention is very interesting and very specific, Cal, maybe our TOC team can make something out of this
information as I can confirm that recently, every time when I crashed in the CoD,
it happened exactly in the
moment when I wanted to turn around I got stuck in the way that I had to shut the shard off with my taskmanager ...
I don't know if this is PhysX related or is something special in the avatar movement or whatever, you are the experts ...
Just wanted to mention this as it is so specific and exactly the same and maybe it is telling you something code-wise ...

If I crash, I'm almost always crashing in COD. Very, very rarely do I crash in other TOC-MOUL ages. I usually crash moments after linking in. The places I usually crash are: 1) at or on the ferry, 2) At the news ticker, 3) Just outside the museum (left side of the porch). Not that I always crash there but if I do crash there and link back in quickly, I usually crash again. I usually try about three times and then either quit or head to some other part of COD.
Me thinks that there are some problems in the 'age model' (or what ever you call it).
I have my client set to 'XP SP3' compatibility and 'run as admin'.

Thanks all for the comments. I have sent a TOC-Log.zip file along with a CPU-Z printout for my CPU to support. Hopefully, they will find something useful.
I am truly amazed with the things I have found in CoD. Major items hidden in plain sight. Previously blocked stairways, an elevator that leads to the future?, a blank book that leads to a renovation in progress, etc. I am sure I haven't found everything. I even found a couple of journey cloths. I don't know how many there are but I assume seven. I also don't have a clue what happens when all are found.
When I first discovered TOC, I was skeptical--"Just another version of MOUL" Was I ever wrong!
Keep up the good work, gang.
Cal
