So, we have a KI virus. This seems to scramble our typing. What if we typed the journal we found in the cave while we still have the virus. maybe it would tell us a clue or something.

My guess...

The virus could also be a weapon? What was created by the guild to manipulate the KI-System and thus increase influential on the D'ni. A planned cyber attack on D'ni? Apparently at that time had not worked and now it has caught us!

Well, tried my idea last night with a few explorers there, but it didn't seem to work. The virus seems to take out vowels in the sentence or lock the caps on. Someone mentioned maybe the journal in Rosenqvist's office might be a part of it. I'm not sure that is the case as Rosenqvist's journal and the one in the cave were written at different times. Found that the doors would open at the bottom of Takotah alley. However they lead to an empy space for now.
Edit; Yes, sorry those doors have been fixed, they were not supposed to open.

Here a transcript of the "journal" we found behind the wall:

Code: Select all

It hath been a long time since I last visited this path. I cannot remember everything, but I know that I was about 30 or 40.
When I was looking for a profession, I was very disappointed for I noticed that none wanted to employ me. But then there was the night that changed everything. In yon night I recieved a letter of which I cannot remember who gave it to me... It told me that I should come to a secret appointment and that maybe I was a long sought person.
The evening thereafter, I decided to attend yon meeting. There were many people in cowls and cloaks. They performed a strange ritual and told me that I was no member of their guild. Sure it was not one of the 18 major guilds. However, they told me they have a dark secret. They told me they have greater power than the other guilds altogether. And one day they want the power over all of D'ni.
I was youthful and fraught with hatred for the other D'ni. Thereupon, I became a member of the guild and in the next years, this hidden cave was my accomodation for I had none afore...

I think we should keep our eyes peeled for randomly cloaked people and use any measure needed to squeeze the information out of them.

Edit: I posted a chatlog of the even here, in case anyone is interested ;)

Hi,

I once searched for "fncvrapr" and found that it could be a coded word. There was something "Caesar cipher"!

8 letters, 8 digits gave the word "
Spoiler:
sapience" (wisdom, Weisheit)
"

I can also huge mistake! This is what has me so translated. ;)

PS: I refer also to the fact that on the note in Rosenqvist office was still a piece of information!

That's what I thought, too, though I never had the time to really apply that cipher very thoroughly (was simply running the alphabet hoping for a hit).
However, even though sapience makes sense - doesn't look like we're much further. Or do you know into which context we should put that word?

No, not really. Perhaps there is even a hint? A supplementary word in a text we do not yet know . It really is just a guess.

Wait what are we the "Patch Day" bring. :)
