A Boat Tunnel

There seems to be a boat tunnel below and adjacent to the library plaza (on the right from the water). Got over near water level to peek in but fell through before I could get a pic down the tunnel. I suppose you could see it clearly from the boat ride but I always crash when I get near the boat.

I have a pic from further back but I can't find a way to upload it to this site.

The Way to Kerath's Arch

I was able to make it out to Kerath's Arch via the overland route. There are only a couple of tricky places. I think the folks I was following the first time were taking the difficult high route. Many thanks for getting me as far as I did -- Rock, heart, scarchu
Spoiler:
I found a way up out from under the library plaza after sliding down while trying the vertical face there. Just go past the next rail post under the plaza deck and go to the wall. There is a sloped face between two vertical faces. Just start running and jumping occasionally and you will eventually get to the ridge. Then it easy from there.

Spoiler:
I use the same method earlier in the route after you get over the walkway opening (past the bridge). I just fall down on the left side (looking towards library) of the walkway railing and follow it a good ways till you need to go up and over to the back sde.
I'm not as good as some at maneuvering my avatar so I have to find the easier way. But more power to the 'haute route' gang.

Actually, I heard a lot of talk concerning the presence of a "cave" or a "tunnel" in the stalagmites range going toward the Arch.

It's a channel. It's open on the 2 ends. The inner lake end is easy to figure out. The outer sea end is not easy I must say and we do not see it clearly. There's missing visuals on that side. If you are not an expert skydiver, please do not try to go (in COD) on that side to see it, you'll fall into the sea. You must know how to combo jump (the elevation there is nearly at 80 degrees) and be real quick on controls to get out of there with all your body parts.

So why there's a channel there? Like in RL, it's there for navigation purposes. The boats were maybe travelling under the Arch itself but it's narrower than the channel itself.

Here is some pictures taken on my offline installation of URU using the flymode. You can also notice the channel without flymode by doing the zip line launch in MOULa from the lamp at the top of the Great Stairs. You'll see the opening in the stalagmites range :D

This is the view we can see from the lake side

This is the weird view we get when we look from the sea side. When I went on that side in COD, I saw almost the same thing. I was standing on the cliff though not flying like you see right now. I saw that the visuals were missing all around the channel opening.

Now this is awesome. Can't wait to try it (but now it's too late).
Would it be possible to do the same also in the Kirel and/or the Hood?

  ;)

This is why I wanted SOOOOOO bad to go in TOC today :(

I knew there were some awesomeness down the drain ;)

This pink thing for your info is the location of the GZ. I know it doesn't look like that but it is!

Good catch Scarchu :D

@Rock: We can't climb like monkeys if there's void. The high balconies of both neighborhoods are on a physical point of view "floating" in the air. Visually, it's continuous. For the highest part of both neighborhoods, Cyan didn't solidify the cliffs.

The same applies to Ae'gura VS the COD (a modified Ae'gura). We can do some monkey climbing in Ae'gura (museum wall, Library fallen wall, beside one of the Great Stairs' top lamp, the barricade over Tokotah Alley) but not as much as we can do in COD.

We would have to get a NOD or a KOD, a Neighborhood of Dimension or a Kirel of Dimension. Maybe we can start bugging the TOC team for that ;)

Well, there's a point in a KoD/NoD but I fear we would face extreme stability issues. You know how the CoD likes to crash. ;)

Ok :) Well maybe some day in the future then, eh? No rush, there's plenty of time ahead. And, as good Myst gamers, we are patient.

In the meanwhile, this probably means I'll finally be able do the Right side Path to the Arch then!
Good 8-)

(you know, we have to do something while waiting for Mr.Rosenqvist to return, hehe  )

What I said about cliffs that are void? ;) Maybe, we should have a set of wings on our avatars :D
