It seems that Alien has a Series 8 Graphiccard which is supported. So this should not be the problem. But maybe you can try to install an older PhysX version, which supports older GPUs.
It'S also not the problem with the Lamps. It's only particle like the rain in Eder Kemo.

I tried installing PhysX 2.6.0 (from the MOULa folder) but TOC would not run past the "PhysX is not installed" phase.
So I tried installing the PhysX from the TOC folder, still TOC would not run past the "PhysX is not installed" phase.
So I installed the PhysX from the link somewhere on this forum ... and TOC runs, but I still can't get into the Bahro caves.

The installer in the MOULa folders are PhysX 2.6.0. But we need PhysX 2.6.4. Because of this it won't run. We can't share a newer PhysXinstaller because of licensing issues. But maybe I find an installer in the web.

Just because Alien can't get into the caves with a card that should be supported by this version if PsyX, does not change the fact that this is a shared problem. A file or file set in the Bahro cave levels has, in affect, been altered so that only computers with an as yet unidentified program or file set on-board can access them. CUDA enabled GPU's and the new PhysX were a natural choice as to why a few players (so far only 2 have come forward, and you are both connected to the game) can get into the caves and the rest of us can't. If you want to prove my GPU theory wrong, then borrow a computer with a GeForce 6200 card (or at least a non CUDA card, but there are now 2 us on record with the 6200) make sure the drivers have the most recent Nvida update, the lode the game just as a regular player would. If you play through the cleft and any of the first 4 books and enter a Bahro cave successfully, then you can say for sure that it isn't a graphics card issue. Until then we have too small of a sampling to reach any definite conclusion.
I thank all who have responded so far, and ask all who read this to post their Graphics card info and if they can or can't get into the Bahro caves here.
good luck to all, Fred the Cat

I doubt that it has something to do with Nivida 6XXX series - I can go, as I stated before, to the caves for the Bahro poles/totems without any problem. All other caves cause my client to crash to desktop. Additional I say that I don't use a Nvidia GPU but a Radeon HD 38XX.
Edit: Tried it with an older Physix version and I strongly doubt that it is the culprit. When I crashed this time in Ercana, I got an error message telling me that the TOC client had issues with msvcrt100. Maybe that's a lead - though it's not explaining, why I can go into those other caves...

When you can only go to some of the caves, I think that it's not a problem with the Caves, but with the way to the caves, because all of these caves are in one age.Maybe it's a problem with Internetexplorer 9. Some time ago some people had problems with the offlineuru because of Internetexplorer 9. Maybe its the same problem...

Er, I'm using Opera - IE9 never soiled my harddisk.

I cannot get to any of the Bahro caves

And why do you feel the need to quote me to tell us that you (as most others) can't access any the Bahro caves?

The fact that a Radeon card can deal with one type of cave and not the other, only shows that different GPU's deal with the problem in different ways, and that the the 2 types of Bahro caves might have slightly different problems. But this does not prove that our video cards interacting with the Servers PhysX is not the problem. The only way to prove that my Nvidia 6 series card is not part of the problem, is for someone to successfully enter both types of caves with a computer using one. Sorry Capt. but he was right in calling you on that, no one can clear the 62 until someone has entered the caves with one, or the problems are solved. (or at least a better theory as to a variable on home computers that can react differently to some element of the game)
5 computers is not a large enough group to do more than speculate. The count stands at 1 PhysX supported card that can get into all the caves, 1 Nvidia card that should be supported, but can't enter any caves, 2 Nvidia cards that aren't supported by this PhysX that can' t enter any caves, and a Radeon card that is not supported that can enter some caves but not others.
I ask once again for all who read this, and are in the game, to post your video card info and if you can enter caves in this topic.Good luck to all, Fred the Cat
