@Abjab, this sounds very weird. I don't know why it's not working for you.
Oh. So I figured that I must be "Banned"....(I wouldn't blame 'em....I would ban me too, given the trouble we cause....

) But then again, Mystler "doesn't give up on us guys"

, even for his critical Exams !

..so it must be Serious enough problem to require a log dump (and more work for Mystler

)...which I want to avoid, if at all possible. So I made deep immersion into Forum dialog(s), rejecting all immediate instincts to change something, in case I made it worse; and three nice hot bathtubs later, lightbulbs came on
In deference to the following link dialog, Here is where I must cough politely, brace myself and say..(Deep breath)..."Annabelle was correct !" in my specific case, at the very least; ref

Prior to 2.12 update (with Vista, admin, no compatability, then XP SP2 compatability for 2.11 update and now 2.12) I have always operated (successfully) with admin, UAC "On" and a Modem Router that recognized TOC as a "trusted" site. 2 months ago I upgraded the Modem Router, and may not have made TOC a trusted site (hmm, I have to double check that, now), which didn't seem to affect interim updates until 2.12. What appeared to be happening to my subsequent 2.12 update (as best I can tell) is that the UruLauncher.exe was UAC inhibitted without an admin permission banner ever being displayed for my input...and depending upon time outs(?), the UruLauncher Banner then said "Failed connect to moul.the-open-cave.net:80; No error", then "Bad access".....
So I disabled the UAC (UAC "Off"), and after certain amount of software drama and retry, I am Logged and Loaded, and stable (until some IP priority interrupt), and it looks great
One result of exploring 2.12 was that Red/Green Markers previously
collected in COD are no longer visible in COD (good), but are still visible in other Aegurae (bad), and remaining markers displayed in COD and other Aegurae are "uncollectable" (good), but shouldn't be visible at all after collecting 15+15=30... (bad). I thought this visibility thing had been fixed in 2.11 or earlier; a couple of visible marker locations were hotspots for crashes at one time....Then again, they are kind of pretty
I'm going to try turn UAC back on again and see if it all runs ok now that I have once logged in and quit. My instinct is that UAC had to be turned off for certain updates only (TBD).
Many, Many, Thanks Mystler for all the hard work...and Annabelle for "Un-Banning" me
Hopefully this post might help others to find their way back into the game too
