Something's wrong now. Alt + F4 no longer works on TOC to exit Uru.

Mystler et al: Many Thanks, this is all awesome ! Now running like Clockwork for me, like a good Swiss watch :)

But it wasnt like this initially..:( I'll spare all the details but try to describe key elements in case other avies are still having the same problems )

When I made the changes Mystler advised, I wasn't sure which of 4 files to move (from appdata string for old (TOC) Uru Live folder), so I made the update anyway, noticed that 2 of 4 files were recreated and redated, and 2 weren't recreated (KI and Avatar) so I moved those old files into the new "The Open Cave" folder. I also noted that the update was coincident with a major MS Vista update requireing PC shutdown; AND a major Norton Internet Security Annual Update. So I hit Login and held my breath.......(/me goes purple here...)..Nothing. AH ! forgot to say "English" ...empty line, otherwise.

Try again...well yes..But realy slow... :? ...(no dual Uruexplorer.exe was running). After several permutations of retry, perseverence showed that I could actually logon (20minutes); And load (35 minutes) (Abjab). Spectacular Graphics, and tiny fonts, and avie response swung like a compass at the Magnetic North Pole: Crashed out at the Wall...Figured it was my fault for not resetting Gahreesen Book first (Avie was /suitup'd anyway); so next time I used Abjab2, reset the Gahreesen Book first, with sane but horribly slow results...Noticed that my Graphics Pixels had been cranked way up (1000 s), and screen ratio didn't match my Screen ratio (4:3) anymore, so I cranked it back a little to match the ratio and re-check Logon again...better on restart, but it made me go back and check basic MOUL requirements for screen... 800x600 16 bits (4:3 Ratio). Humph. So I reset everything down to that. (Screen settings are found under Urulive in game Tool box, "Wrench" symbol, found by pulling cursor down to bottom right of screen...it seems to help my video driver to pick numbers that match the real screen ration, if available)

Next logon was a dream, but I still noticed that my KI chat font was distinctly tiny...I cranked that back up then relogged; (Ki font setting is found under "Big KI" Tool Box, Gear symbol)

Great logon, Now the KI font was too big, one last reset seemed to bring everything into synch 8-)

I have no idea what reset the Screen numbers numbers to extreme high quality, or what reset the font size to extremely small but lucid type; but I would hazard a guess that there might be a common cause, and it may be related to the Upgrade, or previous crashes, or above other updates....and if this report helps other avies struggling with same issues, Please send a Marker game with your name in one Marker text on Highest peak in COD...I'll find it there.. :D

Oh, sounds like the change of the settings folder affected you very hard but I'm glad it works now.

Many Thanks Opa, Mystler...Filtik ....You should know that TOC-MOUL (WhoM (?)) "Avies on line" list here on Home page, and in-game KI lists are "ghosting" (i.e not recognizing that avies have crashed out or Net6'd). I found that the only way I could remove my Avie name from such lists was by Logging back in and safely "Quitting" directly from the game. Some avies have been absent for 24 hours but are still showing up as online in ages..but they are not in those ages and they are not online.....One of my Net6 disconnects was caused by my own IP server, with results as noted, other disconnects were unkown cause, but had the same results.

Hope this helps... ;)

We already know this problem, but we can't do much against it. If we notice, that someone is absent for a relative long time we manually delete them from the list. But this is everything we can do.
