If you couldn't go anywhere that just means you got disconnected from the server.

Sorry that I have to say this and I know the risk. BUT either you are the only person which logs into Uru at a time the server is very slow, or there is a problem between our server and your Computer (maybe also your Computer). But if you got disconnected from the server it would mean either the server crashed, or you are not able to connect to the server. Because of the fact, that other people can play on the server I think that you lost the connection.

Maybe there are maintenance on the wires between your Home and our server. I would suggest (if you can't load faster) that you wait a few weeks and then try again. There are enought other servers for skydiving during this time ;) .

EDIT: If it would be our server, which is damaged, there has to be at least a few more people with your problem...

Last night i loged in at 18:30 GMT+2 and stayed loged till 23:30.... I am in Bulgaria and my updating was not more then 5 seconds... my downlaod speed from the server is aprox. about 1,8MB/s. So i believe the problem is not at the server. Don't forget, Annabelle, that there is so much hops from you to the TOC server!
You can do a simple test:
Under Windows type: tracert 94.199.242.180
Under Linux type: traceroute 94.199.242.180
and see where is the problem...
P.S.: this IP is the IP of the www.the-open-cave.net resolved. you can type the name too.

Maybe I should ad, that this is a command for the Windows Command line... BTW I didn't know windows has such a feature. That's perfect for looking where's the problem

I don't understand why listing times is an argument the problem is server-side...

Please also remember that there are lots of miles of cables from Canada to Germany. A traceroute is a quite cool idea.

Some day I had a much greater problem. I couldn't reach TOC anymore, neither the homepage nor the shard. I waited several days because I thought the server were down. But nothing changed. :!: The rest of the internet worked fine furthermore! :!:

Then I took my smartphone and tried to reach the TOC homepage. - Not a chance. As my smartphone is connected normaly via the same wireless router, I tried a mobile connection. And that worked! So I knew the TOC server was not down.

Via E-Mail Filtik advised me not only to do a hardware reset to my internet equipment but also disconnect it entirely from power grid. After the reboot all worked fine again.

It would be nice, this could help Annabelle as easy as it did for me...

Isn't she talking about Online not Offline?

Wait???? Pulling the cable and reconnect?

...at least i'm going to try that out because I'm really thinking the server and my PC are in divorce instance  .

It's easy to do.

In 20 minutes I'll rewrite to tell if something magical happened

one of my PC crashed completely loading the forum website...

I'll run a program to inspect it.

With this PC (the one that can load TOC), i'll retry the patching install to see if it goes accordingly to my high speed connection

If it doesn't work, please try out the command line command from Scarchu.
